Additional Information

Agency Name: Health Resources and Services Administration
Description: The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB), Division of State and Community Health (DSCH), is providing funds to establish a State Public Health Coordinating Center for Autism. The purpose of the Combating Autism Act Initiative (CAAI) State Public Health Coordinating Center for Autism (Coordinating Center) is to support and assist States in developing a State system of care to improve the health of infants, children, and adolescents who have or are at risk for developing autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other developmental disabilities (DD). The Coordinating Center will accomplish this support by coordinating with the State Autism Demonstration Grantees and developing a strategy for supporting and monitoring the role of State public health, including Title V and other public health programs, in developing a State system of care to assure that children and youth with ASD and other DD receive early and timely identification, diagnosis, and intervention.
