The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) offers the Healthy Homes and Weatherization Cooperation Demonstration grant, funding up to five communities. This grant provides housing interventions for lower-income households, aiming to determine if coordinating HUD’s Healthy Homes Production (HHP) and DOE’s Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) improves home safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Objectives include demonstrating efficient coordination, reducing WAP deferrals, establishing sustainable inter-program cooperation models (e.g., data sharing), exploring sustainable financing, and collecting data to evaluate improved indoor environmental quality, health outcomes, and program efficiencies.
