This grant program facilitates cooperative agreements between Idaho State Agencies and the Secretary of the Interior, specifically for implementing comprehensive conservation and rehabilitation initiatives on public lands. Its core purpose is to significantly improve fish and wildlife habitats, conduct essential range rehabilitation to support wildlife, and ensure robust protection for species officially classified as threatened or endangered at both federal and state levels. The agreements mandate specifying program areas, providing for habitat improvements, and requiring stringent control of off-road vehicle traffic. This structured approach aims to effectively carry out Idaho’s broader wildlife conservation strategy by establishing clear terms and conditions between the state and federal partners.
