The Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) Program offers grants to educate U.S. Ph.D. scientists and engineers. This grant is for the purpose of cultivating future leaders in research and education by equipping them with interdisciplinary backgrounds, deep disciplinary knowledge, and essential technical, professional, and personal skills. It seeks to catalyze a cultural shift in graduate education by establishing innovative training models and fostering collaborative, cross-disciplinary research environments. Furthermore, the program is dedicated to enhancing diversity in student participation and preparation, thereby contributing to a world-class, broadly inclusive, and globally engaged science and engineering workforce ready to drive change.
