The Department of International Narcotics Control and Law Enforcement (INL) is offering a grant to professionalize the law enforcement sector in the Central African Republic. The project requires experienced trainers to provide comprehensive training and mentoring to a significant portion of CAR’s law enforcement units. The goal is to improve skills, establish a continuous training program, and assess the impact of the training. With INCLE funds allocated for this initiative, the focus will be on enhancing the capabilities of various law enforcement forces in CAR. Applications are accepted until February 15, 2018.

Description: | This project calls for a team of highly experienced law enforcement trainers (ideally four or three subject matter experts) to be deployed to the Central African Republic to train a substantial cohort (67 percent or more) of CAR law enforcement. INL envisions a two-phase project: training and mentoring. The team will conduct training of units, and then about six to eight (6-8) weeks after the training sessions, team members shall begin mentoring the units trained to reinforce acquired skills, install a continuous training program, and evaluate and measure the impact of training. INL has set aside FY 2017 International Narcotics Control and Law Enforcement (INCLE) funds to develop and implement a comprehensive and integrated training program for CAR’s law enforcement forces, including National Police, Gendarmerie, Judicial Police, Mining Police, and Municipal Police on a broad range of law enforcement topics. Upon request, and as the team is able, training may be provided to other specialized and operational units. |
