Additional Information on Eligibility: There is no application process for this notice. This is a single source announcement under justification 505 DM 2.14, and on the recipient’s unique ability to carry out the proposed tasks. The Division of Management Authority intends to enter into an agreement with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Project grant will be used to provide financial support for international travel for the first technical exchange meeting regarding ivory trade of the African elephant.

Description: This award will be made to provide financial support for international travel for the first technical exchange meeting regarding ivory trade. The purpose of this meeting is to address key challenges and develop the priority actions required to address the current and increasing trends in illegal killing of African elephants and the illegal trade of ivory, as identified by CITES, MIKE and ETIS, through effective, concerted and coordinated actions at all steps along the supply chain, particularly at the consumer level in China and Thailand through awareness-raising activities. This meeting will be facilitated by the IUCN SSC AfESG and technically supported by TRAFFIC, with financial assistance from the United States and China, the host nation.
