The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District (USACE)intends to enter into a cooperative agreement with a non-Federal public entityor nonprofit organization for land stewardship and restoration services on USACEland in the Rogue River Basin. This cooperativeagreement will assist NWP in fulfilling environmental stewardshipresponsibilities consisting of restoration and management of native prairielandscapes and wildlife habitat while providing education and trainingopportunities to the recipient’s participants in the local Jackson County,Oregon community. These education andtraining opportunities exist through the need for natural resource andmaintenance services on USACE lands located at the Rogue River Basin Project(Lost Creek Lake, Elk Creek, and Applegate Dam). The goals and objectives of this cooperativeagreement are for the implementation of best natural resources managementpractices with regards to environmental stewardship, high and low densityrecreation areas, and operations/facilities maintenance.
