The Jamaica Bay Science Initiative is currently seeking Expressions of Interest (RFEI) for the development of a proposed Science Center. This RFEI offers a chance for interested parties to contribute to the vision for a new Science Center in the Jamaica Bay area. Following multiple rounds of public Q&A, the Initiative is posting comprehensive answers to enhance transparency and inform potential respondents. These answers provide crucial details regarding the effort’s connection to other ongoing projects, participants from previous site visits, the types of information expected in responses, the anticipated Request for Proposals (RFP) release date, and whether budget proposals should be included. Additional Information on Eligibility: | Description: The purpose of this REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (RFEI) is to solicit proposals from organizations interested in partnering in the establishments of a center for science and resilience in New York City’s Jamaica Bay. This high-level research center, most likely located on public parklands within the Bay area, would focus initially on coordinating disparate scientific efforts now being undertaken there by public, private and non-private entities. The goal of the Center would be to support the development of strategies for future restoration and protection of the Bay’s ecology and enhancement of the resilience of the urban-ecological system of the Bay and its surrounding neighborhoods.
