Some of these ecosystems are threatened by the effects of climate change, nitrogen deposition, non-native plant invasions, and incursions by off-highway vehicles. Personnel from GBI and Joshua Tree National Park will collaborate to develop and implement a variety of monitoring and restoration protocols to better preserve the vegetation of the park.
