| Description:: | The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan invites all eligible organizations (see Section IV for Eligibility Requirements) to submit a proposal to renovate the Press Center based in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in Kabul. The goal of this project is to equip the MFA spokesmans office with the tools to coordinate, produce and distribute accurate and timely informational products to the Afghan and international media, international partners, and the public at large. The MFA is the primary institution responsible for developing, initiating and managing messaging and all other media activities related to Afghan foreign policy and Afghanistans international relations. Though the Ministry does have an existing space for press conferences and media events, a significant upgrade in design and equipment is essential to the betterment of official communications. This solicitation calls for the renovation of the MFA Press Center to include a remodel of existing facilities and the procurement and installation of new equipment. The recommended refurbishment should improve the ability of the MFA to disseminate accurate and timely information by better facilitating regular press conferences by the Afghan Foreign Minister, Deputy Foreign Minister and MFA spokesman to both national and international media. This will be a limited, six-month project to launch the MFA Press Center. |
