The University of Namibia is the only institution in Namibia accredited to train medical doctors and is the leading trainer of nurses, pharmacist, and other health professionals in the country. The Faculty of Health Sciences is the umbrella for the School of Medicine (SOM) and the School of Nursing and Public Health (SONPH) and is the only institution in the country charged by the Government of Namibia with the training of all cadres of health care professionals. Additionaly, the University is the only provider of Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBCHB) and Bachelor of Pharmacy (Bpharm) degrees in Namibia including the variety of degrees and diplomas, such as Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorates of Nursing, and a Masters in Public Health, critical to development of sustainable public health systems. |
