National Council on Disability 2017 Progress Report Funding Opportunity

For this Progress Report, NCD will focus on poverty – and how to lift people with disabilities out of its grip. Current research indicates people with disabilities are more likely to live in poverty than those without a disability. In fact, if you’re disabled in the U.S. you’re twice as likely to be poor and unemployed. This report will address why people with disabilities are often destined to live in poverty and experience high unemployment despite existing federal regulations and public policy geared towards improving the lives of people with disabilities, and offer recommendations for change.

The 2017 Progress Report will focus on poverty – and how to lift people with disabilities out of its grip. Current research indicates people with disabilities are more likely to live in poverty than those without a disability. The estimated contract period is 10 months. This potential funding opportunity is contingent on fiscal year 2017 federal funding availability. NCD will distribute FY 2017 Progress Report Notice of Funding Opportunity to interested parties on June 7, 2016. NCD will expect interested parties to submit their responses by COB (close of business) July 8, 2016. Copies of the Notice of Funding Opportunity will be available on grants.gov and ncd.gov and may be requested by mail or picked up at NCD on or after the issue date of June 7, 2016.
