This grant, offered by the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), seeks applications for the Coordinating Center (CC) of the Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence Tools to Advance Genomic Translational Research (MAGen) Consortium. The CC’s primary purpose is to explore the feasibility of developing advanced ML/AI tools. These tools will enhance the accuracy and precision in predicting how individuals with pathogenic genetic variants manifest disease. Additionally, the CC will be crucial for fostering synergistic and collaborative team science across the Consortium. This includes orchestrating technical, scientific, and administrative coordination, developing consortium-wide plans, facilitating ELSI-informed ML/AI tool development and cross-validation, and ensuring broad dissemination of developed resources. The grant supports critical infrastructure for innovative genomic research.

Description: | The purpose of this Notice of Funding Opportunity Announcement (NOFO) is to solicit applications for the Coordinating Center (CC) of the ML/AI Tools to Advance Genomic Translational Research (MAGen) Consortium. In collaboration with the MAGen Sites funded by the companion NOFO (RFA-HG-24-004) the CC will explore the feasibility of developing Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools that can enhance the accuracy and precision of predicting how individuals with pathogenic genetic variants manifest disease. The CC will be responsible for implementing approaches to bring diverse teams together to enable synergistic and collaborative team science across the Consortium. Specifically, the CC will be responsible for technical, scientific, and administrative coordination activities to support the Consortium research activities including development of consortium wide plans, coordinated ELSI-informed ML/AI tool development and cross validation, and dissemination of the developed resources. |
