The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is offering this U01 grant to support projects defining comprehensive reference profiles of circulating human extracellular RNA (exRNA). This grant aims to generate detailed profiles of short and long non-coding regulatory exRNAs, including environmentally-derived exRNA from diet or the microbiome. Studies must utilize diverse healthy human body fluids, such as blood, saliva, urine, breast milk, semen, amniotic fluid, cerebrospinal fluid, ascites, and pleural effusions. Existing human biospecimen collections are strongly encouraged. This grant is exclusively for human samples; animal or other non-human disease models are not responsive.
