Description: This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice regarding the intention of the National Park Service (NPS), to fund the following project activities without competition.

OVERVIEW
The National Park Service intends to enter into a cooperative agreement with the Historic Sites Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, Inc. as part of a collaborative effort with Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial and Parks Canada with the following objectives:

1. To collaborate with the Recipient and Parks Canada in the planning and execution of annual events commemorating the Battle of Lake Erie and the War of 1812 both in Canada and in the United States.
2. To develop joint projects and educational opportunities that focus on recounting the story of the War of 1812 from multiple perspectives which will create relevancy amongst visitors of both countries.
3. For the NPS to work jointly with the Recipient to build awareness of the significance of the War of 1812, including the importance of the role of the National Park Service in commemorating and documenting the historic event, and to increase the appreciation of historic sites in Canada and in the United States.
