Description: | 1. Provide safe, fun, educational outdoor activities for Denver metro area youth who would not typically have the opportunity to engage with the natural world.
2. Actively promote education, job training, development of responsible citizenship, and productive community involvement while furthering understanding and appreciation of natural and cultural resources through the involvement of youth and young adults in activities on public lands. 3. Assist with the long-standing efforts of the NPS (Urban Agenda, etc.) to provide opportunities for public service, youth employment, youth development and training, and the participation of young adults in accomplishing community outreach and education and conservation-related work. 4. Recruit and hire youth and young adults primarily from underrepresented groups, including those from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds, and low and moderate-income families. Provide direct mentoring to ensure they graduate from high school, pursue college, and are fully prepared to apply for positions at the NPS and other land management agencies if interested. |
