The project draws inspiration from the Parks as Classroom program and the Healthy Park, Healthy People program. This project engages underserved youth of Seattle

Project Goals –

This agreement will create youth engagement opportunities by planning and implementing Teen Hikes of the Chilkoot Trail for youth from the Seattle area from title I schools as well as youth local to the Skagway area.

Project Objectives –

  • 10 youth from Seattle area Title I schools provided with transportation, gear and guides to hike the Chilkoot trail
  • 10 youth from the Skagway area provided with transportation, gear and guides to hike the Chilkoot trail
