| Description: |
This announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service’s intention to award financial assistance for the following project activities. This Great Lakes Restoration Initiative project will support habitat restoration and enhancement activities to support the health of pollinators on 159 acres across the Indiana Dunes Regional Landscape. The goal is to improve the health of the pollinator communities, which provide important ecosystem services in surrounding agricultural and natural landscapes. Native pollinators are important components of ecosystems and provide economically important ecosystem services. Given the global decline of native pollinators, resource managers recognize the need to contribute to pollinator conservation efforts. The objective of this project is to increase resiliency of native pollinators by increasing connectivity of pollinator habitat across the regional Indiana Dunes landscape. Improving the health of the pollinator communities will provide important ecosystem services in surrounding agricultural and natural landscapes. |
