| Description:: | The public purpose of this agreement is to plan an Interpretive Experiential Center at El Pueblo De Los Angeles Historic Monument so that visitors can learn about recreational opportunities at city, county, state and federal lands including the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
Develop interpretive exhibits and related physical and experiential components for a new interpretive center that helps parks and other public lands more accessible and meaningful to Americans. NPS, USFS, and WNPA and partners, including the City of L.A., El Pueblo Management, California State Parks, and UCLA REMAP are working together to create an experience that provides a unique opportunity to connect one of the largest and most diverse urban populations to parks¿to create a gateway to parks and forests. This WNPA Visitor Center will promote all public lands surrounding Los Angeles. The building will be owned by the either the City of Los Angeles or LA County. These two organizations are working on determining management of the building where the experiential center will be located. |
