The results will be used by park managers to inform visitor use management including commercial activities and recreation uses. At Katmai National Park and Preserve the results of the visitor use study will inform management strategies and alternatives development for the Backcountry Management Plan. Lake Clark National Park & Preserve will also be able to use the results to inform future planning efforts. Another important goal of the study is to provide a scientific basis for informed decision making with regards to high quality visitor experiences at Katmai National Park & Preserve and Lake Clark National Park & Preserve and achieving desired resource and visitor experience conditions.
