Agency Name: National Park Service
Description: This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service’s intention to fund the following project activities without full and open competition.

There are two general goals of this agreement: (1) youth development and education and (2) trail maintenance and resource protection work.
(1) Youth Development: The CCC youth involved in the project will benefit from specific job skills training, exposure to federal lands stewardship work, community and personal development curriculum, and learning of wilderness-derived values.
(2) Trail maintenance and resource protection: the CCC Backcountry/ Americorps program will provide work on trail maintenance, trail reconstruction, and trail-associated wildlands restoration according to the 2012 trail maintenance plan for Kings Canyon National Park. Specifically, the crew will assist reconstruction of Zumwalt Meadow and Muir Rock trails to meet ADA requirements, construct reroutes and restore abandoned trail segments at erosion-damaged meadows in Palisade Creek Canyon, assist in annual trail opening and maintenance in Cedar Grove and Middle Fork trail districts, reconstruct erosion-damaged trails in Palisade Creek canyon, and assist in other portions of the 2012 Kings Canyon trail maintenance work plan as needed.
