BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES

 

Master Cooperative AgreementNumber P15AC00031 was entered into by and between the Department of theInterior, National Park Service, (NPS) and Student Conservation Association(SCA) (hereafter referred to as ‘Recipient’) pursuant to:  

16 USC 1723 (c), Public LandsCorps, authorizes the Secretary to enter into contracts and cooperativeagreements with any qualified youth or conservation corps to performappropriate conservation projects referred to in subsection (d) of section1723. The Secretary may also authorize appropriate conservation projects andother appropriate projects to be carried out on Federal, State, Local, orprivate lands as part of disaster prevention or relief efforts in response toand emergency or major disaster declared by the President under the Robert T.Stafford Disaster Relief  and EmergencyAssistance Act (42 U.S.C. 5121 et seq.). 

Unless otherwise specifiedherein, all terms and conditions as stated in the master cooperative agreementwill apply to this task agreement. 

  1. Project Goals – Support or stimulate work and/or education and training opportunities for young adults through collaborative participation in Lake Clark National Park and Preserve’s Division of Facility Maintenance.
  2. Project Objectives –
    1. Develop the intern’s technical skills to successful work on a facilities management project.
    2. Allow the interns to apply skills learned to a trail maintenance project
