The National Space Weather Program (NSWP), a multi-agency Federal initiative, is offering this grant to support basic research focused on mitigating the adverse effects of space weather. This grant is for the purpose of advancing the NSWP’s ultimate goal: achieving timely, accurate, and reliable space environment observations, specifications, and forecasts. Proposals are sought for fundamental research in solar, heliospheric, magnetospheric, ionospheric, and thermospheric physics. Successful projects will contribute directly to the strategic objectives of the NSWP, enhancing our understanding of the space environment and improving capabilities to predict and respond to space weather events.
