The Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is intended to provide financial and administrative assistance to support the National Tribal Toxics Council (NTTC). The NTTC works to advance chemicals management and pollution prevention policies and programs consistent with the needs, interests and unique legal status of American Indian Tribes, Alaska Native Villages and intertribal organizations through 1) raising and assessing Tribal chemical risk management and pollution prevention program development and implementation issues with OPPT; 2) assessing national chemical risk management policy and pollution prevention initiatives that affect Tribes and Alaska Native Villages; 3) offering a network for Tribal chemical risk management officials to share information between Tribes, federal parties and other organizations and represent Tribal interests on chemical risk assessment, risk management policy and pollution prevention initiatives that impact Tribes; and, 4) promoting and enhancing Tribal chemical risk management and pollution prevention program development. The award recipient under this NOFO will provide administrative and technical support to the NTTC that includes a variety of activities including but not limited to: facilitating multi-day in-person meetings, holding monthly calls, managing a website, identifying high priority toxics and pollution prevention areas of Tribal interest, developing effective outreach, and working cooperatively with both the Tribes and EPA on programmatic issues.
