| Description: |
The purpose of the Agreement is to design and construct slope stabilization measures to provide structural repair and erosion prevention measures for the embankment along the indicated eastern shoreline of the Chesapeake Bay Detachment. The work shall include all necessary measures to meet the intent of the cliff line stabilization efforts to reduce erosion, prevent NPS pollution, and to restore riparian habitat adjacent to the Chesapeake Bay. These measures will include installing cliff line erosion control measures, relocating utilities, structure demolition, native tree and shrub plantings, and supporting measures to reduce cliff line erosion. Specifically, the work shall enforce the structural stability to the cliffs along the indicated shoreline. In addition, the Cooperator shall obtain the necessary Federal and State permits and coordinate with the US FWS to facilitate the implementation of innovative design options to provide for structural integrity of the specified shoreline at the Chesapeake Bay Detachment. A CATEX was completed for the proposed 4,250 linear feet of stabilization in January of 2011. |
