The National Cancer Institute (NCI), through its Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD), Division of Cancer Biology (DCB), and Division of Cancer Prevention (DCP), is offering this cooperative agreement research (U01) grant. This grant is for supporting basic research studies into the causes and mechanisms of cancer health disparities, including those related to basic research in prevention strategies. A primary purpose is to fund innovative mechanistic studies that investigate biological and genetic bases of these disparities. Furthermore, this initiative aims to foster the growth of a national cohort of scientists with high-level expertise in basic cancer health disparities research, who will contribute by developing vital resources and tools like biospecimens, cell lines, and essential research methods.
