The National Center for Research Resources (NCRR) is offering this grant to develop and evaluate innovative research education programs aimed at improving PreK-12 research career opportunities and enhancing the community’s understanding of NIH-funded health science advances. This grant is for the purpose of fostering dynamic partnerships between biomedical and clinical researchers and PreK-12 teachers, schools, and other interested organizations. Particular emphasis is placed on applications addressing topics not currently covered by existing curricula or community activities. The NCRR encourages proposals that create new resources and outreach for science education. Utilizing the NIH Research Education (R25) grant mechanism, NCRR anticipates allocating approximately $3 million annually to fund around 10 new awards each year from FY 2011 to 2013, supporting vital advancements in health science education.
