The National Endowment for the Humanities offers Media Projects Grants for film, television, and radio projects intended for national or regional distribution. These grants support the development and production of humanities content that engages public audiences. Projects may include components such as websites, mobile applications, or museum exhibitions. Development grants assist in creating scripts and outreach plans, while production grants fund the creation and distribution of media programs. Those focusing on digital platforms can apply to other NEH grant programs. Applications for Production Grants should adhere to specific guidelines. Closing date for this grant is on Aug 13, 2014.

| Description: | Media Projects grants support the following formats: ¿ film and television projects; and ¿ radio projects. Film and television projects may be single programs or a series addressing significant figures, events, or ideas. Programs must be intended for national distribution. The Division of Public Programs welcomes projects ranging in length from short-form to broadcast-length video. Radio projects may involve single programs, limited series, or segments within an ongoing program. They may also develop new humanities content to augment existing radio programming or add greater historical background or humanities analysis to the subjects of existing programs. They may be intended for regional or national distribution. NEH encourages projects that engage public audiences through multiple formats in the exploration of humanities ideas. Proposed projects might include complementary components to a film, television, or radio project. These components should deepen the audience¿s understanding of the subject: for example, websites, mobile applications, museum exhibitions, book/film discussion programs, or podcasts. If you seek to develop a digital platform that is independent of a film, television, or radio project, you should apply to the Digital Projects for the Public grant program. Digital Projects for the Public does not, however, currently support production projects. If you seek to produce a digital platform independent of a film, television, or radio project, you should apply to the Museums, Libraries, and Cultural Organizations: Implementation Grants program.
