Description: Purpose. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) invites applications from institutions for renewal of a Statistical and Clinical Coordinating Center (SACCC) to support clinical studies in organ transplantation conducted by the following NIAID-sponsored clinical consortia: the Clinical Trials in Organ Transplantation (CTOT) Consortium, the Clinical Trials in Organ Transplantation in Children (CTOT-C) Consortium, and the Genomics of Transplantation Cooperative Research Program (GTCRP). The SACCC will provide statistical expertise, data management and clinical site monitoring, and will work with NIAID staff to ensure that studies are conducted in compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and the federal regulations governing human subjects research.

Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the cooperative agreement (U01) grant mechanism.

Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. NIAID intends to commit approximately $3.8 million in FY 2010 to fund one new or competing renewal grant in response to this FOA.

Budget and Project Period.The total project period for an application submitted in response to this funding opportunity is 5 years. Direct costs less consortium F&A are limited to $2 – 2.5 million per year for a five-year period.
