Additional Information

Agency Name: National Institutes of Health
Description: The goal of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to move commercially-viable vaccines and products for treatment and prevention of diseases relevant to NIAID’s mission from NIAID intramural research laboratories into the marketplace. This FOA solicits Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant applications from Small Business Concerns (SBCs) for projects that incorporate the appropriate research expertise (company, NIAID Intramural or external collaborators/consortiums) to further develop and commercialize such inventions. The Direct-to-Phase II grant mechanism is intended to facilitate SBIR-type research and development, to expand research and development opportunities for applicant SBCs, and to enhance the pace of technology development and commercialization.
