| Description: |
Providing high-quality resources to the field of corrections continues to be one of NIC’s priorities. As such, the creation of video vignettes that focus on brilliance in several of the fundamental aspects of correctional work will highlight the “Expected Practices” that have profound implications on an agency’s culture and professional climate. These video vignettes, filmed in institutional settings, will target those areas that the industry sees as the most impactful to the safety and security of the corrections officer, the offender, and the public in general. The underlying premise of this project is the idea that professionally performing our correctional duties promotes public safety and increases the likelihood of everyone returning home safely. This video collection will be made available to NIC’s constituents. It can be used to supplement existing training or be used as stand-alone microlearning resources to benefit the field at large. Additionally, the raw video and still photography captured on-site in the production of these videos will add to NIC’s video and photo library, which can also enhance NIC’s future e-learning and virtual products, which are an essential part of our offerings.
The use of quality representational, relational, organizational, and interpretative images and videos are a critical part of e-learning and virtual learning experiences. High-resolution photos and video clips are expected for all NIC learning platforms, including asynchronous e-courses, training programs, and the NIC website. Professional videos stimulate the viewer’s interest by personalizing learning, engaging emotions, and depicting specific correctional based settings. |
