The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is offering this Medications Development Centers of Excellence (MDCE) grant to support specialized clinical research. This grant is for the purpose of identifying, evaluating, and developing safe and effective medications and biologics specifically targeting the treatment of substance use disorders (SUDs). Research under this program can encompass both currently approved therapeutic agents and novel, investigational products. Furthermore, Centers are encouraged to incorporate a translational research component to reinforce the scientific rationale underpinning medications being tested. This NIDA initiative aims to significantly advance pharmacological interventions for SUDs through dedicated research.
