Additional Information

Agency Name:: National Institutes of Health
Description:: This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) issued by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), National Institutes of Health (NIH), solicits novel, research project grant (R01) applications proposing to investigate the epigenetic basis of virus-associated oral diseases in order to guide the discovery and application of novel epigenomic-based clinical interventions. These studies are expected to: 1) discover and define the mechanisms of action of epigenomic modifications in viral and host epigenomes; and 2) demonstrate how modifications in the host and viral epigenomes cause pathophysiological changes in oral cells and tissues that result in oral diseases and may also cause diseases in other parts of the body.
