This NIDCR K18 grant offers mid-career and senior investigators short-term (2.5 to 12 months) mentored career development experiences. Its purpose is to enhance existing research programs and broaden collaboration opportunities in dental, oral, and craniofacial (DOC) research. Candidates will gain expertise in new scientific areas, including theories, tools, methods, or approaches, by training with investigators from different fields. This applies to established DOC researchers seeking interdisciplinary skills or researchers from other fields introducing DOC research into their programs. While this grant does not support leading an independent clinical trial, it allows for research experience within a mentor-led clinical trial, fostering skill diversification and program growth.
