The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) and the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) are offering this grant to cultivate an interdisciplinary workforce dedicated to bioengineering research. This initiative aims to develop innovative technologies for treating Type 1 Diabetes. Specifically, this grant is for the purpose of supporting institutional training and education programs for postdoctoral level researchers. These programs will focus on creating integrated long-term glucose-regulated insulin delivery systems, improving beta cell or islet encapsulation for replacement therapy, and advancing beta cell and autoimmunity imaging methods. Ideal candidates will possess backgrounds in bioengineering and/or computational sciences, contributing to cutting-edge T1D solutions.
