The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) is offering this grant to continue supporting the Clinical Centers of the Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) Clinical Research Network (CRN). This grant is for the purpose of completing ongoing clinical treatment trials and continuing the vital longitudinal collection of biospecimens and data from both children and adults affected by nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), including steatosis, steatohepatitis, and cirrhosis. This essential data contributes to the NAFLD database study. The NASH CRN, sponsored by the NIDDK since 2002, has consistently focused its research efforts on understanding the etiology, contributing factors, natural history, complications, and developing effective therapies for nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. This continued support ensures the advancement of critical research in this field.
