The National Institutes of Health (NIH) BRAIN Initiative is offering this grant to advance our understanding of complex behavior through innovative quantification and modeling. This grant is for researchers proposing to develop and apply cutting-edge, minimally invasive tools for high-resolution measurement of organism-level behavior, synchronously capturing social or physical environmental changes. It also seeks computational methods to integrate multidimensional behavioral and environmental data, representing multiple timescales, into dynamic models of behavior. Proposed projects should be designed to integrate synchronously recorded neural data and/or inform existing neurobehavioral function models, especially those supported by the NIH BRAIN Initiative. Clinical trials are not allowed.
