Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
Additional Information on Eligibility: Other Eligible Applicants include the following:
Hispanic-serving Institutions; Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs); Non-domestic (non-U.S.) Entities (Foreign Institutions) located in Low- and Middle-Income Countries are eligible to apply.

Non-domestic (non-U.S.) components of U.S. Organizations are not eligible to apply.
Foreign components, as defined in the NIH Grants Policy Statement, are allowed.

Description: The purpose of this FOA is to encourage applications for research training programs to strengthen the HIV research capacity at low- and middle-income country (LMIC) institutions. Each application should propose a training program that will build or strengthen research capacity in an applicant-defined HIV-related scientific topic at an identified LMIC institution. Current AITRP and Phase II ICOHRTA AIDS TB award institutions are not eligible to submit applications under this FOA until the last year of their current AITRP or Phase II ICOHRTA AIDS TB project period.U.S. Institutions must have on-going HIV research collaborations with the LMIC institution named in their application to be eligible to apply.
