This NIDA NIH R21 grant is for developing novel pharmacological strategies to treat pregnant/postpartum women with Substance Related Disorders (SRDs) and/or in utero substance-exposed neonates. It encourages preclinical and clinical research to identify, evaluate, and develop safe and effective new pharmacotherapies, including novel chemical entities or immunotherapies. Additionally, the grant supports evaluating the safety and efficacy of FDA-approved medications for new applications in this vulnerable population. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) seeks to enhance treatment options for these critical public health challenges.
