The National Institutes of Health (NIH) offers the R01 Research Project Grant for Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) Research in Health. This grant is for identifying, developing, and refining effective methods and strategies to integrate research-tested health behavior change interventions and evidence-based prevention, early detection, diagnostic, treatment, and quality of life services into public health and clinical practice. The goal is to bridge the gap between scientific discoveries and real-world application, ensuring validated health improvements benefit the community. Funding varies by the nature, scope, quality, and duration of proposed research.

Description: | Purpose. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) encourages investigators to submit research grant applications that will identify, develop, and refine effective and efficient methods, structures, and strategies to disseminate and implement research-tested health behavior change interventions and evidence-based prevention, early detection, diagnostic, treatment, and quality of life improvement services into public health and clinical practice settings. Mechanism of Support. This FOA will use the NIH Research Project Grant (R01) award mechanism and runs in parallel with FOAs of identical scientific scope, PAR-10-039 and PAR-10-040, which encourage applications under the Small Grant (R03) and the Exploratory/Developmental Grant (R21) award mechanisms. Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. Because the nature and scope of the proposed research will vary from application to application, it is anticipated that the size and duration of each award will also vary. The total amount awarded and the number of awards will depend upon the mechanism, numbers, quality, duration, and costs of the applications received. |
