NIJ’s Applied Forensic Science Research and Development Grant for Criminal Justice
The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) is offering this grant to fund applied research and development projects focused on advancing forensic science for criminal justice purposes. The primary goal is to enhance knowledge and understanding essential for guiding forensic science policy and practice, or to foster the creation of valuable materials, devices, systems, or methods applicable in forensic settings. This program aims to translate insights from fundamental scientific research and broader scientific fields, including ongoing forensic science studies, into the development of highly discriminating, accurate, reliable, cost-effective, and rapid methodologies. These methods are intended for the identification, analysis, and interpretation of physical evidence, ultimately bolstering criminal justice efforts.
