The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) are offering this grant to support critical research into the impact of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)-1 on the central nervous system (CNS). This grant is specifically for defining the pathogenic mechanisms of HIV-1 Associated Neurocognitive Disorders (HAND) and identifying effective therapeutic strategies.
