NINDS offers grants to institutions supporting the development of research education programs for clinical residents and fellows in neurology, neurosurgery, neuropathology, and neuroradiology to foster careers as physician-scientists. The program aims to increase diversity in the research workforce by encouraging participation of individuals from underrepresented groups. PD/PIs must have a departmental appointment in Neurology, Neurosurgery, or Pathology. Residents and fellows in the specified fields are eligible to participate. The NIH recognizes a unique and compelling need to promote diversity in the biomedical, behavioral, clinical and social sciences research workforce.
