RFA-OH-21-007 will continue the NMVB to advance biomedical research for malignant mesothelioma to gain a better understanding of the disease and its progression, and the potential development of new treatments, therapeutics, and diagnostics for mesothelioma. Continued support to the NMVB will allow expansion of collection of biospecimens, related data, and other information. NIOSH intends to continue the NMVB at the University of Pittsburgh to accomplish the following important program priorities: maintain uninterrupted assistance to mesothelioma researchers; avoid critical support gaps for current or pending mesothelioma research efforts; demonstrate a sustained public health commitment to advancing the treatment of mesothelioma; and affirm a sustained commitment to workers and other people impacted by this disease. |
