This NIST grant is for piloting innovative online identity solutions, enhancing individuals’ and organizations’ access to government services. It seeks applications aligned with the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC) vision, promoting secure, efficient, easy-to-use, and interoperable credentials that foster confidence, privacy, choice, and innovation. The program emphasizes solutions adhering to NSTIC Guiding Principles: privacy-enhancing, voluntary, secure, resilient, cost-effective, and interoperable. NIST will fund projects that test or demonstrate effective solutions not widely adopted, aiming to bridge existing gaps. Applications must detail involvement with at least two government programs, utilize a private credential provider, and explain the solution’s broader replicability to achieve program goals.
