Additional Information on Eligibility: The United States Department of the Interior, The National Park Service (NPS), and The Great Smoky Mountain National Park is announcing a notice of intent to award a cooperative agreement; this is not a request for applications. This funding opportunity is to provide public notice of NPS’s intention to fund the following project activities without full and open competition, under a Cooperative Agreement with the National Park Service (P15AC00015) and American Conservation Experience for a project titled; Water quality monitoring, a water health check to; indicate the overall health and condition of water resources.

Description: This is a twelve-month position, working with the NPS Appalachian Highlands Inventory and Monitoring Network (APHN) as a member of a team that conducts field-oriented natural resources monitoring. The position will serve Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area, Blue Ridge Parkway, and Obed Wild & Scenic River with principal duties of assisting with field data collection, data management and related laboratory testing for the Network¿s water quality monitoring program. Other duties may include assisting with freshwater mussel and vegetation monitoring.
