Additional Information

Agency Name: National Park Service
Description: This collaboration between NPS and LACC will offer over 12,000 hours of skilled trades development to the urban youth of the Los Angeles area. Many of the Corp members who work on public project usually are exposed to basic trades and their skill development and is limited by the available work projects. This unique project will offer marketable skill development in carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and professional landscaping.

Additionally, the project will provide a fully accessible outdoor experience that does not current exist in the Santa Monica Mountains. Collaboration on construction on a project with such a strong social equality goal will provide the Corp members a social growth opportunity that should greatly deepen and broaden the work experience.
