This announcement is to provide the public notice of the NPS’s intentions to award a task agreement under a previously competed Master Cooperative Agreement P15AC00031. The Recipient will recruit four (4) interns from the surrounding community. Each intern will receive an orientation on NPS and CHYO along with hands-on training to be able to support the interpretation division in school visits, library sessions, and other local and statewide events scheduled where the significance of Charles Young and the Buffalo Soldiers story will be interpreted and cultural activities demonstrated. The interns recruited will support the interpretive division with implementation of upcoming interpretation programs for the annual celebrations to honor Dr. Martin Luther King’s Birthday, collaboration with local schools during Black History Month, ROTC Marauder Battalion and commemorate the 155th Birthday of Colonel Young. These youth interns will gain experience in the application of oratory and research skills, exhibition development, and grant writing while providing public opportunities to increase the knowledge and appreciation of the Wilberforce, Ohio community and its historical links to the life of Colonel Young. |
