The National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) offers this grant to expand research opportunities at Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs). This program aims to broaden participation in CISE-funded research by increasing the number of successful projects from MSIs. It also seeks to develop the research capacity within these institutions, enabling them to submit competitive proposals to core CISE programs. The CISE MSI program recognizes the critical role MSIs play in fostering innovation, developing future talent in computer and information science and engineering, and enhancing overall U.S. competitiveness, thereby promoting inclusive excellence in the field.
