| Additional Information on Eligibility: | By statute, grants under this program may be awarded to states, Indian tribes, units of local government, tribal governments, and nonprofit, nongovernmental organizations. For the purposes of this program, a unit of local government is any city, county, township, town, borough, parish, village, or other general-purpose political subdivision of a state, including local courts, law enforcement agencies, prosecutor’s offices, and public shelters. Applicants must demonstrate that they have the expertise and organizational capacity to successfully undertake an initiative that involves significant collaboration with local, state, and federal law enforcement, as well as local public agencies, victim service providers, and nonprofit and faith-based organizations that serve youth, in order to develop, enhance, or expand a comprehensive model of service delivery to minors who have been subjected to sex or labor trafficking as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000. |
